WAYPOINTS
WAYPOINTS

Following in the footsteps of Confluence’s earlier releases DRIFT, RISE and CONNECT, WAYPOINTS is the most exotic, ambitious and in-depth feature-length project that Confluence has ever created. Shot around the world in both fresh and saltwater, locations include flats fishing St. Brandon’s Atoll in the Indian Ocean, trout fishing the wilds of Patagonian Chile, coastal Southeast Alaska for Steelhead, the Himalayan rivers of India for Golden Mahseer, and the jungles of Venezuela for saber-toothed payara. Confluence has become known for great stories, interesting character profiles, soulful interviews, an amazing diversity of species, and the finest cinematography in the world of fly fishing. WAYPOINTS delivers on all of these things and more. An incredible travel-logue-style fishing film that truly showcases not only the fly fishing lifestyle, but the journey itself as seen through the eyes of anglers Oliver White, Jeff Currier, Greg Bricker, Gerhard Laubscher, Rooster Leavens, and several other interesting and unique characters.

RISE
RISE

In 2008, Confluence Films debuted DRIFT, a highly acclaimed documentary that captivated the flyfishing community. In 2009, riding on the success of DRIFT, director/cinematographer Chris Patterson of Warren Miller Entertainment and executive producer Jim Klug once again set out in search of new locations and the totally unique stories, characters and species that epitomize the spirit and soul of flyfishing.

This new film is RISE - a collection of individual stories shot around the world; stories that together truly reflect the attraction that flyfishing has for all of us. Shot on location in the Florida Keys, Argentina, Idaho, New Orleans, Venezuela, and Alaska. RISE is a stunning feature-length film, photographed entirely on 16mm film and mastered in HD.

DRIFT
DRIFT

Photographed entirely on 16mm & 35mm film, the breathtaking imagery of DRIFT will be captivating with incredibly vivid color, contrast and depth, qualities that are only available in the film format. DRIFT will look and feel lush and beautiful, each segment highlighted with hypnotic, slow motion images of casting, moving water, and underwater action. Deep, soulful interviews with select "legends of the sport" and others who have shaped the sport, will resonate with a musical score that features the sounds of Jack Johnson’s Brushfire recording artists. This deep rooted passion for the sport will be conveyed by these devoted (and sometimes eclectic) characters that have immersed themselves in the sport and the lifestyle of fly fishing. The fact that each segment tells a completely unique story and focuses on different characters and anglers is one of the many things that sets this project apart from other film and video releases of recent years.
